Today the focus is on character development. Again this is in preparation of your assessment task. Once you have read the information I would like you to find key quotes by those characters and list them in the comments here please. You can also use the document below to write key quotes in you English book please.
Hi Year 9! In preparation for your essay task next week I have a number of things for you to work through. Firstly you should be all complete with your comprehension questions by now. Wednesday the focus is on themes. What are the major themes in the play? Watch this short clip to get your head into the right space: I have put together some information for you to have a read through to further understand the themes running in Romeo and Juliet. Once you have read through the information I would like you to find some textual evidence (quotes etc) to support the major themes listed below the information and to post them in the comments. Please also include the reference point (Eg. Act 3 Scene 2). These quotes will help in the planning of your essay. You can find the themes page here. I will be checking these!

As I mentioned we are going to create a StoryBoard of he play Romeo & Juliet as we go. This will serve two purposes - demonstrates understanding and also gives you a different platform for revision. You need to make sure that you incorporate important quotes with each board. We are going to use the Storyboardthat platform. Helloooooooo Year 9's! I hope that you all had a great break and I assume that you are all done with your Truman Trailers (except for those that emailed me!). I will collect these on Wednesday providing I am well enough to be at school. Today I would like you to read through (and take notes) about reality television. There are two PowerPoints to work through, and the second has questions that need to be answered along with the notes that you are taking. Following this, download the Reality TV 7 Up worksheet. Please complete this sheet (by that I mean for homework if you don't finish it in class!) See you tomorrow (hopefully!)

I will be with you at some stage today so please make sure that you are doing what I ask of you! We are working on character profiling and using your booklet as a guide work in 6 groups of 4 please. Your group will need some markers and butcher paper (it is on the bookshelf in your room). The groups are 1. Tiffany, Denzel, Harry, Kerry (MR. BOONE) 2. Devlin, Dom, Zoe, Brianna (MRS. BOONE) 3. Lachlan C, Debra, Josh S, Blake (MRS. ALEXANDER) 4. Lucy, Finley, Annalise, Nic (CHRISTOPHER) 5. Josh M, Riley, Madison, Kerry (SIOBHAN) 6.Hannah, Lachlan H, Daniel, Keira (MR SHEARS) We are going to put the posters you create up around the room. Use the table as a guide but you should be able to come up with at least three (3) examples of positive and negative traits. See you soon! Hello! Ok, so today I would like you to work in groups of two or three to further explore themes of the novel. Use your unit book as a guide to what topics to do. If each group makes a table I will collate them and share it with you all (makes for a good reference for revision etc). Put your table in google drive please. If you finish that, and you are all up to date with everything else you can go onto Word Flyers. Have a great weekend Kids! |
