Todays class for Year 9: Can Christopher Change?
Howdy! Today I would like you to consider change and how it has (if it has in fact) affected Christopher. There is a document attached to this sheet and the covering teacher also has some hard copies. Under each heading please fill out - using evidence (what in the book supports the notions? It could be direct quotes, related experiences or your observations based on what you have read) from the book. Note down specific pages if relevant. You may work in partners, and I am expecting detailed work.
Lets take Point 1, Discuss Christopher's Condition - You might include here that
1. He behaves and thinks differently than most children his own age.
2. Society has difficulty understanding and responding to him.
3. He can't: do chatting (51), understand metaphors or figurative language or facial expressions (2), can't mix certain colours, doesn't like to be touched and can't imagine.
