Hello! Here is the electronic copy of your assignment for those of you that have misplaced your hardcopy. You can also download it below. This assessment is due Tuesday 3rd of March.
So, year 11 we have our theme . . . . Celebrity! Hooray! Can you please let me know in the comments below who your celebrity is please. I'm looking forward to seeing all you work! :)
WOOHOO, you have reached the end of the year, well done! Cue collective sigh of relief. There is just one more thing that I require from you - a reflection on your year in VCAL. This could be done as an annotated photo story (make it interesting!) or a powerpoint presentation. I don't want 5 boring sentences. Consider the following points
1. Best part of the year. 2. Your thoughts at the beginning in relation to VCAL and your thoughts now. 3. What was worthwhile? 4. Is there anything that you don't think needs to be included next year. 5. How would you sell VCAL to incoming students? 6. What are you looking forward to next year? 7. What did you achieve this year? 8. Has it been successful for you? There may be other aspects that you would like to include. This is NOT just a retell of your year. Make it interesting - I have to evaluate 19 of them! It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and I feel really lucky to be the VCAL Literacy teacher! Here are your debating teams and some information on the roles of each speaker (downloadable below).
Well done VCAL'ers on an amazing effort with R U OK? Day. I have heard many positive comments from the day and the consensus was that the cupcakes were AMAZING! To begin this week could write a reflection of term 3 in your journal please - it does not have to be specifically about your schooling and can be about any aspect of you life. Once you have done that you are going to write a response in relation to advertising. You can download the document outline here, and there is also a link to a planning website. Your replacement teacher will have hard copies of these also. They will also have a peer editing document so that you can correct each others work (make sure that you have 2 of your classmates edit your work before you type your good copy) AND you must HANDWRITE your draft. I will collect all of these documents (planning, editing sheets and final copy) from you - they can be submitted at the end of Thursdays session. Goodluck and email me if you have any questions. Remember, if you have outstanding work it would be in your best interest to complete it over the holidays as the end of the year comes around fairly quickly once term 4 starts.
Online PlannerAs we have been learning about mental health and well being in the VCAL recently it has been decided that we are looking after raising awareness for the national 'R U OK?" Day within our school. Here are your ideas and some planning/guidelines to help you. R U OK? Website (check out the toolboxes for school)Welcome to week 5! I hope you are well and had a great weekend. Unfortunately I have a sick child and won't be in today (boo hiss right?!). Today you are going to - 1. Journal 2. Complete you Hoddle waddle annotated photostory (post below) 3. Post your Hoddle Waddle reflection in the comments of this post. Comment on the success of the day overall, highlights/lowlights, how you worked as a group & also individually. Was there anything that you found challenging? What did you learn? What could be done to improve this activity? 4. Finish editing you TV Ad and send it to me please. 5. Read the attached document below entitled "Thunder thighs" and complete the questions. Answer in full sentences please and send through to me. Work hard, all of this work ticks off outcomes! See you tomorrow in the Library!
