Hi Humanities students of mine!
As I have mentioned to you Nicola (a year 11 student of mine) is travelling to Timor-Leste as part of an Ignatius Immersion program. As part of this she would like to take letters from our year 7 students to give to the students that she comes in to contact with. You can write your introductory letter in English, or the native tongue. Below you will find a template, which you just need to fill in the gaps. In your letter you can, introduce yourself, you age, your family (if you want), the things that you like to do, sport you play etc. Template in local language Exmo Kolega, Hau nia naran ____________________ (your name) Hai nia tinan _____________________ (your age: eg 13) Hau ema Australian Hau husi Geelong Hau gosta hamilar bola (I like ball games) Melhores Cumprimentos Your name Please see the pic below for any further words that you might want to use. Remember you can write in English - thats ok too! I would like the letters by Thursday morning (at the latest). If you type it you can email through to me otherwise just give me the hard copy in class. Try to make them interesting and include a picture of yourself! :) From Chapter 5 you should have completed the following sheets in your workbook (not the textbook!)
Worksheet: 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.5, 5.6, 5.9, 5.10. I will update with the questions you should have completed soon. Hello hello! Ohhhh, mummies. One of my favourite (yet oh so gross) parts of ancient Egypt.
I would like for you to read 5.6 'Mummies Unwrapped' and answer questions 1, 2, 3 and 4 please. You can work in pairs. There is a mummies worksheet on my desk (in my office) that you can do - colour and put in order in your books. One of you will need to grab them for me though (please and thank you!). Also, there are a couple of videos that you can watch here. You will also see some interactive weblinks there that you are able to explore. Lots to do, work hard and be good!! Please finish at least the questions & the colouring activity. See you Wednesday! Please watch one of the videos here. You are to complete your worksheet before our next class please. You can source your information elsewhere if that helps! :)
I look forward to seeing your work year 7! Hi 7 Coudere'ites. As you know I am away at camp this week. Today you are going to do some reading about Ancient Egypt, page 112 and answer questions 1, 2 and 3. There is a corresponding worksheet in your workbook you can also complete (a little bit of source sorting) and then the replacement teacher has a handout for you. This handout is the social hierarchy and a map of ancient Egypt. Can you please colour the map in and paste into your workbook - and keep the social pyramid somewhere safe. In fact you could also colour and paste it in if you have the time.
Work hard and be good! :) Ok, big breath . . . .
